Our Story: From One Unit to 70+
Owners Jelena and Quinn Tamm began their vacation rental journey in 2011 with a two-bedroom lock-off at Legacy Villas in La Quinta. After experiencing the challenges of the self-management model firsthand, they shifted focus to professional vacation rental management—launching California Vacation Villas in 2014.
By 2017, the company had grown to over 50 managed units, and today, we proudly manage more than 70 properties across eight condo communities in La Quinta.

Lupe Martinez
Housekeeping & Maintenance Manager
Lupe supervises California Vacation Villas’ housekeepers and maintenance staff. She came to California Vacation Villas in 2018 with over 25 years in the hospitality industry working for brands such as Holiday Inn, Marriott and Intra-West. Lupe’s role has evolved to include managing seven housekeepers and two handymen while being directly responsible for property inspections and scheduled maintenance. Lupe is responsible for human resources and works closely with Darlene and Yahayra to service guest’s needs.
Darlene Espinoza
Reservation Manager
Darlene’s responsibilities include guest services and managing/monitoring the company’s reservation systems. Darlene started with the company as a housekeeper in 2019 and moved into her current role in guest services at the end of 2020. She came to the company with experience in front-desk and customer relations roles in the hospitality industry which included jobs at Holiday Inn and Marriott. Darlene works with Yahayra to manage all aspects of the guest experience including direct interaction, systems management and property set-up.
Yahayra Chavez
Operations Manager
Yahayra joined California Vacation Villas in 2020 and worked briefly as a housekeeper before moving into her role as Operations Manager. Yahayra develops and maintains the company’s systems and software as it relates to guest communication, operations, home automation and security. Prior to joining California Vacation Villas, she worked in multiple roles including private events and catering for the Hilton brands. Yahayra works directly with Darlene to automate and enhance the guest experience.
Jelena Tamm
Co-Owner, Owner Relations and Accounting
Jelena founded California Vacation Villas with Quinn in 2014 after working nine years with Wells Fargo Bank in their private mortgage division. Jelena touches all aspects of business operations with a focus on owner relations and accounting. Jelena is the primary point of contact for property owners and maintains the company’s accounting including monthly owner statements and vendor payments. She is actively involved in pro-short term rental advocacy as a board member (Treasurer) of VRON-LQ and also served on the vacation rental ad-hoc for the city of La Quinta. Jelena is a licensed California real estate salesperson (CA DRE# 01501044).
Quinn Tamm
Co-Owner, Owner Acquisition and Business Development
Quinn’s exposure to the vacation rental industry dates back to his childhood watching his parents manage a vacation home in Ocean City, NJ. Along with Jelena, he started California Vacation Villas in 2014 after seeing a need for professional property management that matched the service level and technology utilized in the hotel industry. Quinn’s focus with the company involves homeowner acquisition, systems management and business development. He manages individual unit pricing, implements software solutions/integrations and looks for opportunities to grow inventory. Quinn is a licensed California real estate salesperson (CA DRE# 01877277) and handles all of the company’s real estate related activities.
